When I started my weight loss journey 3 years ago, I thought I could do it all by myself. This wasn’t the case. It wasn’t till I started training with Exercise 101 that I was surrounded by like-minded individuals who helped me along the way.

I was slacking with my eating and exercise habits and wasn’t happy with myself, so I chose to take on this opportunity and make a positive lifestyle change. I took on Exercise 101’s 21 Day Rapid Weight Loss Challenge.

Throughout the challenge I trained at least 5-7 times per week. My training regimen was broken up and consisted of Exercise 101’s awesome morning group classes which really motivated me to to take ‘that extra step’. Doing the classes was a great way start my day as I felt great.

My diet consisted of 5-6 controlled portioned meals a day, eating every 2-3 hours. I ate simple foods such as grilled chicken breast, salmon, lean red meat along with salad and vegges. I also drank about 3 Liters of water. I treated myself to one “cheat meal” per week. However I stuck to my training religiously to make sure I was on top of my game.

GOAL SETTING played a HUGE role in my success. I set a goal to win the challenge, not just for the prize, but for myself, and nothing was going to stop me from reaching my target. Short term goals are the stepping stones to your long term goals. Once a realistic goal has been set and you are 100% determined and committed to achieve it, everything falls into place.
